“I want to make a difference in the lives of veterans — it’s as simple as that. As a Clinical Engineer for the U.S. Navy for more than eight years, I saw first-hand that veterans were often using outdated equipment and supplies. I knew I could do better, so upon my discharge, I launched QB Medical to provide veterans with the best tools and care they need as easily as possible. We do this by serving veterans, VA medical centers, and civilian healthcare providers. And I’ve assembled a team to help me with that mission.

In addition to his Navy experience, Shawn holds a B.A. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Southern Illinois University and an MBA degree from Webster University. His experience and education provided the perfect foundation on which to build QB Medical.
Kathryn Ruggles
Contracting Manager - 6 years
As Operations Manager, Kathryn is responsible for overseeing our purchasing, contracting, and warehouse operations.
"I was raised in a family of mostly military and civilian federal employees. I take pride in knowing what I do each day positively impacts their lives and others like them."
Prior to joining QB Medical, Kathryn had 10 years of professional experience in operations and is a graduate of San Diego State University.

Karla Torre
Finance Manager - 5 years
As Finance Manager, Karla and her team members are responsible for managing the business side of QB Medical, including accounts payable and receivable.

Karla has 23 years of finance experience and is a graduate of San Diego State University.

Jennifer Harrington
Customer Service Manager - 5 years

In her effort to provide outstanding customer service, she and the members of her staff aim to return all phone calls or emails within 24 hours of receipt.

Jennifer has 16 years of customer service experience and is a graduate of San Diego State University.

Carly baigelman
Head of Marketing - 1 year
A marketing veteran, Carly has 15 years of marketing experience, serving professional service firms in New York City before moving to CA in 2020.
"I like coming to work because I work with a great group of people. But I never lose sight of the value of our mission — helping those who help enhance the lives of veterans. So, in all respects, my job is a win-win situation."
Carly is a graduate of the University of Florida and remains a die-hard Gator fan, though she is thrilled to make her home in California.

Othon De Los Rios
Warehouse Manager - 9 years
As a 9 year veteran of the management team, Othon knows the ins and outs of getting products into the hands of veterans and care providers.
"The aspect of my job that gives me the greatest sense of accomplishment and satisfaction is that I have the skills and the opportunities to make a measurable contribution to the needs of our veterans: by getting our products to our end-users in an expeditious manner, for example."
Othon joined QB Medical with 28 years of experience in warehouse and distribution business operations.
